Have I done anything different that I didn't do with the other kids? Not that I can think of.
I make sure she brushes her teeth. I even floss them for her every once in a while.
I don't let her eat bags and bags of sugar.
She eats healthy things like carrots and apples that are suppose to help keep your teeth strong.
She doesn't drink juice or take a sippy cup to bed.
And she still managed to get a mouthful of rotten teeth.
My poor sweet little girl has a mouthful of rotten teeth.
She has SEVEN CAVITIES. She is in need of a ROOT CANAL. And she needs her two front TEETH PULLED.
She is FIVE!
This has all happened in the past six months. What did I do? What didn't I do?
I have failed her little teeny tiny teeth.
In her defense and mine, the two front teeth that need to be pulled are actually the dentists fault. About six months ago she had a small cavity right between her two front teeth. When the dentist fixed those teeth, he went a little too deep with the drill and actually killed her little teeth. He said he could either give her a pulpotomy, (not sure what this is exactly, but it has something to do with filling her little teeth with a foreign substance) give her fake teeth, or just pull them and wait for some cute big girl teeth to come in. Now, if you know my kids at all, that means a really really long wait. Hopefully we made the right decision. We weighed all the options carefully and opted for the teeth to be pulled.
Tomorrow is her big day. We take her in first thing in the morning for her procedure. They will put her to sleep and then fix her all up quick, and hopefully, pretty painless.
All she wants for Christmas is her two front teeth, her two front teeth, her two front teeth...And a big bottle of fluoride mouthwash!

No guilt needed here, Stace.
Both girls had 0 cavities until they were about 1-14.
Keats had a mouth-full of baby teeth just like you are describing. I did it all. Flouride pills, brushing, flossing, professional cleanings...all the same as the girls. It has more to do with genetics than anything.
The good news is he has the best permanent teeth of the bunch. Hardly any cavities, ever, straight w/ no need for orthodontia.
She'll be just fine.
Don't worry too much. (although good moms worry.)
Poor Lanie! I love you, Bug! Good luck!
How sad! I feel like that too, what have I done wrong, Abby has 5 cavities and sadie lucily only one. Kids are soooo expensive. Good luck tomorrow on the both of you!
