Another Fun Christmas

Once again the Schmalz family had an amazing Christmas full of fun traditions that help make this holiday so special. We always get to spend Christmas eve with Grandma and Grandpa Schmalz and the rest of the Schmalz gang and that never is a disappointment and it is always the perfect way to kick off the festivities. Lot's of yummy food, reading the Christmas story out of Luke II, more presents that we probably need, and Grandpa sharing his very beautiful testimony.
This year was kind of crazy. Christmas eve was different than usual. Aunt Kimmie did spend the night over at our house. Her and the kids have their own tradition of having a huge sleepover in my room. It's perfect. What was weird about it though was the fact that I still had my paper route...on Christmas! I had to wake up at the crack of 2:30 AM and head on out to deliver all those Christmas papers. To my surprise, when me and Xandi went to leave, guess who had already come to our house? I actually got to take some pictures of what Santa had brought before the kids were sorting and stacking this year.

We have a pretty fun tradition that the kids really like. Christmas morning, you get to pick what ever kind of cereal that you want to eat. Doesn't sound like much of a Christmas breakfast, but around these parts, unless you have a coupon, or unless it comes in a big huge bag, we probably aren't going to buy it, so when you get to pick your very own cereal, it's Christmas!
We do always do a big breakfast later in the morning, but for my kids, they need to EAT before anything else, so this tradition is PERFECT!

Christmas day was great, with many thoughtful gifts. Some that made me cry like a baby (thanks Kim). I love Christmas! And the kids seem to be happy with their haul too. Here is the rundown...

Gray is the Wii fit yoga champ!

Gavin and Soph both got a new DS's with some fun new games.

Gentry was thrilled with his new "big bike".

And Lanie got the laptop that she has been dreaming about!
CHRISTMAS 2008 was a ssssmashing success!
