I can't believe that another school year is upon us and the kids are moving on up to another grade.
This year Sophie is in fifth grade and has Mrs. Mullinax. Can you believe that my teeny tiny little Sophie girl is in fifth grade? She gets accused of being eight years old all the time and people often treat her as such and it makes her kind of crazy. She is even an older fifth grader, she turns eleven years old in just a few short weeks. She is looking forward to those babysitting jobs to be calling, so all you moms out there, Sophie is almost eleven, she looks eight, but she is awesome with kids and would like some money!
Grayson has Senora Luiz in the fourth grade Spanish immersion program. Grayson has loved the challenge of learning a new language, even though it has a lot of homework, he has taken quite nicely to it and has really gotten quite good. Gray has always had a great work ethic and has never been one to put things off. If he has homework, he gets right on it so he can get to relaxing. Plus he thinks he is hot stuff because he can talk in Spanish and the other kids can't. It was fun to go to back to school night and hear him pick up where he left off, a little rusty, but in no time he will be back to his old espanol!
In our home we have always had the tradition of Xandi giving the kids a back to school fathers blessing. Yesterday evening we got to feel the sweetest spirit in our home as Xandi carried on the tradition. All of them got in on it, even Gentry. I couldn't help but peek at him while he was receiving his blessing, So cute. I love that all the kids felt like they had a very special personal blessing. I know that their Father in Heaven knew exactly what they needed to hear and I am so grateful that their dad was in tune to the spirit. I love my sweet husband and that he honors his priesthood and that he is worthy to bless our family with it. I am so grateful for my knowledge of the gospel and how that knowledge blesses my life and the lives of my children. Thanks Xandi for being the man that you are. You are an awesome dad and the best husband ever.

Our dad always did that before the school year started. I love that Xandi is continuing the tradition.
Don't tell anyone else, but I think your kids are the CUTEST (next to mine of course). That little Grayson always stole my heart. How cool that he's learning Spanish. Can Sophie come all the way to S. Jordan to babysit?
You are awesome parents. We are happy to see that you are coninuing one of our family traditions. Good job, Xandi and Stacy.
