08-08-08

The Beijing Olympic Games are scheduled to start on 08-08-08, at 08:08:08 pm China standard time in Beijing and can I just tell you that I am so excited, finally something good to watch on television. The DVR has been cleaned up of any unnecessary programming and has been set to record as much as we can find. I for one have been a big fan of the Olympic Games ever since I saw Mary Lou flip her first flip on the uneven bars. This is the big shebang.
The Chinese believe that the number eight is associated with prosperity, luck and good fortune. I have to agree with them that the number eight must be lucky. When I woke up this morning all on my own power with no kids in my bed telling me to wake up, the window in my bedroom yielding a cool breeze with the smell of rain coming through, I knew it was going to be a great day. I think I took a big mental sigh as I realized that today is going to be one of our last summer days like this this summer, because of our upcoming last hurrah trip to Park City and Gavin starting Junior High in exactly one week from today. I think those lucky Chinese number eights were smiling down on me today!
Have fun watching the world these next couple of weeks.
Go USA!
Go Mormon Olympians!

Hehe, I know I do need to update more! We have a computer just no internet...dang it!!
It was fun to see you guys last night. We are hopefully going to go up Tuesday or Wednesday again. I want to bring you my paint swatches and show you. We can help eachother with this! It seems I can make decisions for others just not myself...I just need that little second opinion that's not Dan's.
Hopefully I'll see you up there again!!

I love the Olympics, too. I remember the 1984 games so clearly - probably because they were first ones I watched. I loved the gymnastics and swimming and volleyball, and I still do. U-S-A, U-S-A!
