It started about this same time last Sunday and continued throughout the entire week and effected the entire family...The stomach flu. Yikes. I thought about capturing the events that unfolded for our posterity on film but just couldn't bring myself to do it. Just picture if you will the porcelain bowl, well, we were all fighting over them. Not fun at all.
With the flu behind us but still not feeling 100%, I was a little fearful about how I was going to do in my very first 5K race on Saturday. I know all of you runners out there are probably thinking, 5K, no big deal. This was a major deal for me. I am thrilled that I did it. When Xandi and I started the training program back in April, I would literally be saying while I was sucking air into my lungs that I would never be able to run more than five minutes. Well, I can, and I did. I ended up finishing 28th in my age group out of something like 84 women. Not too bad for a non runner such as myself and an old lady to boot.
Saturday night Xandi and I took in a show, Iron Man. Not bad I guess, but I am easily entertained and we don't get to go to movies very often so I just loved spending time with my sweetie. I love him so much. Have I mentioned lately how very blessed I am to be married to the greatest guy EVER? I am very blessed and very thankful.
