Hoofbeats
Gavin has been volunteering A LOT of his free time at a place near our home called Hoofbeats to Healing. It's a non profit organization that provides therapeutic horseback riding to help autistic children and other kids in need. Gavin is trying to figure out something he can do over there that would work for and eagle project and while he is at that he has been working really hard. I judge how hard he is working by how smelly he is when he gets home and so that must mean he is working REALLY HARD! It has been really rewarding for him and I can tell that the work makes him happy. Too bad it isn't a money paying job...but he does get payed with blessings in heaven.
It has also been fun to hear all the stories about the children he is helping and to hear about the horses and their unique personalities. Now Gavin can share in my eternal dream of one day being able to have a horse of my very own. Today we went over and took a little tour of the place and met some of the horses. The smell took me instantly back to my childhood and made me feel like I was home.
