Grayson had a blast up at scout camp. I do have to say as hard as it is to be the mom and send your boys off for the first time for an entire week alone, I am so happy that I did. What a great opportunity our boys have to learn and grow. I probably wouldn't be so thrilled had it not been for the fact that I knew he was in extremely good hands. I am so impressed with Graysons scout leaders. What a commitment these men make by taking off an entire week of work to devote to their callings and to help these young men grow in to the amazing men and fathers and leaders that they will be one day. So impressed.
Gray had an awesome testimony building experience up at camp. He also had an experience that was kind of scary not only for him but for me. While up at camp a young man that was 12 years old actually drown in the lake. When I read the news on KSL I literally lost my strength and had a hard time thinking straight. I did give his leader a call (yes, I am one of those moms) and he made me feel a lot better. I am so very grateful for every one of my children and this experience sure made me remember that and did get things running through my head that just brought me to me knees thanking my Father in Heaven for every single day that I get to be a mom. My heart aches for the mother of that young man...and I was even more excited to see Gray walking through the door on Saturday afternoon so I could give him a giant bear hug.
