Sweet Sixteen

Today is our wedding anniversary-sixteen years!

We don't really go all out for our anniversary. I am not even sure the last time we gave each other a gift to celebrate. We usually just like to spend time together remembering not only our wonderful wedding day, (that I have a hard time remembering because I was in la la land that entire day, I do know I had fun though, I was smiling in all the pictures) but remembering why we love each other.
The big man and I started dating a little over 20 years ago. I "waited" for him while he served in the military and on his mission in Brazil. Three months after he got home he slipped an engagement ring on my finger and asked me in the most romantic way (wink, wink) to be his little wife. I said YES! Even though we had known each other for a pretty long time and I thought I knew him soooo well, it turns out that I didn't really know everything that I thought I did...
I love him more today than the day that I married him. I was wiser and luckier than I knew, and being married to my best and most loyal friend has just revealed more of his virtuous and lovable qualities...phew.
