Stopping to say thank you.
Do you know what I have running around my house? He is kind of a little guy, almost three next month to be exact, he may not the best talker in the house but he is getting better everyday, and he is the best example to me on a daily basis of gratitude. Any guesses? It’s Gentry! Simply put, this boy never forgets to say thank you, does not matter what it is, big or small. He is a constant reminder to me to always be grateful, and to show it. whether it’s me making his lunch, or getting his jammie's out of the dryer, or even wiping his cute little bum, this kid is ready with a big “thank you mom”.
He sure has had me thinking, do I show my gratitude for the people in my life like I should? I’m guessing that I could probably do a lot better, and I am so grateful that I have a little reminder constantly being a big example to me.
So on this Thankful Thursday, I just want to stop and say thanks, and to tell all of you out there, you cool friends and family of mine, how blessed I am to have you in my life and how grateful I am for ALL you do for me and my family. The little acts of service do not go unnoticed and they have made my heart so full. I don’t know what I would do without the best mom and sister in the world that keep my kids pretty much dressed, and happy, for that matter, with surprise costumes for Halloween, or special things that they have had their eye on. It means so much to me that they notice what is going on in the kids lives. Or my awesome brother in-law that spends many an hour in my basement helping us finish the never ending basement finishing project, and his sweet wife that still lets him come over! Or my girlfriend that is so willing to help out at the drop of a hat with watching my little ones while I run here or there, or her sending my husband to work early on Thursday so he can get home at a decent hour. Or my father in-law that brings us his treasures that he finds at the DI because he thinks we might be able to use it. It is so nice to know that people think about you every once in a while and it does my heart good. Or my kids, they are great kids, and I know I don’t tell them that enough. Or my husband, I could go on and on about my husband. Heck, I could just keep going on and on anyway!
Anywho, LOVE to all, and if you need to borrow my little reminder, just let me know. Thanks for letting me stop and say thank you.

I loved this blog! It really made me want to cry and be happy all at once. You are so lucky to have the children you have. I work with teens so I know its a little different but when they tell me stories of things they did when they were only your childrens age you are soooooo lucky! I think you and Xandi are so amazing! You have set such an amazing example for your children. And Gentry was obviously a blessing, no body planned on it but him being here has obviously been a wounderous and only God could send something that precious (a long with your other children.) However, its just a reminder that God is really there. Making wonders in a world that is sometimes so complicating and UNEXPLAINABLE! But yet so amazing!
Thank you!
Maybe I should send this along to my sister...I think this will lift her up.
So cute Stac!! I often think the same things too...Do I show enough appreciation to Dan? To my family? My cute parents for letting me tag along with them on their trip? My clients? How great to have a little one to remind you everyday. You really are blessed to have such well behaved children and SO DANG CUTE!!
Thanks for the post!
P.S. I love the new pics of the family and the kids!
That new picture of your family is absolutely gorgeous! The look on Gentry's face is priceless.
WHOA! Just stopped by to see if you had posted something new and saw your new family photo,
GORGEOUS! Stacy, beautiful kids, beautiful family.
Way to add to the world.
Some day we'll get the Schmalz family picture updated. I tried getting the family moving on it this fall....Where was that one taken?
I also loved your thoughts on gratitude. We all have so much to be grateful for. I am blessed every day of my life, by the people in it.
Like I said on the phone, I love your family picture!!!!!!!!!!
You are the bomb-diggety, it is nice to have nice neighbors:)
