Where have I been?

Has January really come and gone and I not blogged? Can I call myself a true blogger? We at the Schmalz home have been very busy these days trying to get our basement done to the point that this little beauty could be delivered and installed! Oh, joy! I could think of at least 100 things I would buy before a pool table but I guess marriage is all about compromise and not ALWAYS being the winner.

This was my big project in getting pool table ready, staining our concrete floor. Look how pretty it turned out and I did it all by myself and it was a fraction of the cost of real flooring!
I kinda feel like a pioneer, but hey, it's better than dirt!

Here is my accent wall. It is a deep olive green that matches the felt on the pool table. I think it is going to be great when we get our furniture downstairs and it ties everything together. My dad is the funniest guy, here are his thought on my wall... "what's the point of one colored wall?" Well dad, there is no point at all really, I just think it looks cool.

So, this is what I have to show for our January! I wish I could say that the entire basement was all done and ready for the boys to head downstairs. I wish I could get my storage room all organized and all the dust was gone. I wish we had power downstairs so my sweet husband could actually use the pool table after he gets home from work if he wants, it is his pool table! Those darn three way switches are giving us trouble. But you know what they say...
If wishes were fishes we would all have a lake!
